Cumberland Students to Hear From Florida Trial Attorney

Posted by Mary Wimberley on 2006-01-30

Florida trial attorney Herman J. Russomanno will speak to students at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law on Monday and Tuesday (JAN. 30-31) as this year's Lawyer in Residence at the school.

A 1975 Cumberland graduate who is in private practice in Miami, Fla., Russomanno will address classes in the areas of damages, professional responsibility and medical liability.

Russomanno, who was Student Bar Association president while a Cumberland student, is a former president of the Florida Bar Association. He was Cumberland's Alumnus of the Year in 1995.

His high-profile clients and cases have included the Nutri-System litigation, Valu-Jet air crash, commercial litigation on behalf of Donald Trump, and representation of former Miami Dolphin O.J. McDuffie.

Cumberland's Lawyer in Residence program annually invites a distinguished graduate to spend two days on campus, speaking to classes related to his or her area of expertise. The program allows students to augment the traditional curriculum with the experiences of current practitioners.
