Position Descriptions

Director of Residence Life: contributes to the overall mission of the department by overseeing all activities and administrative functions of department; and by conducting long-term and short-term planning, budgeting, and decision-making. This is a professionally-staffed position.

Facilities and Safety Coordinator: contributes to the overall mission of the department by overseeing operational functions of the department related to maintenance, facilities, and safety.  This is a professionally-staffed position.

Housing and Business Operations Coordinator: contributes to the overall mission of the department by overseeing housing assignments and finances.  This is a professionally-staffed position.

RLC (Residence Life Coordinator): contributes to the overall mission of the department by leading educational efforts within sub-communities of campus, including the provision of resources for para-professional and student staff members; and by managing day-to-day functions involved in maintaining a safe and positive environment for residents. This is a professionally-staffed position.

Secretary/Office Manager: contributes to the overall mission of the department by conducting clerical aspects of daily department functions and communications; and by maintaining active files for all campus residents and incoming freshmen. This is a professionally-staffed position.

RM (Residence Manager): contributes to the overall mission of the department by working with RLC to address students' needs through programming, by reporting and responding to facilities needs, by selecting and training student staff, and by communicating with all levels of staff to continuously improve the community living environment. This position is staffed by graduate students.

SRA (Senior Resident Assistant): contributes to the overall mission of the department by serving as the primary resource for RA's through mentoring, supporting, and guiding their efforts to build a strong community; and by assisting in the planning and implementation of educational programs and community-building activities. This position is staffed by students.

CB (Community Builder): contributes to the overall mission of the department by building relationships within the community to which he or she is assigned; by facilitating community development through support of area programs; and by responding to emergencies as a member of the on-call staff. This position is staffed by graduate students.

RA (Resident Assistant): contributes to the overall mission of the department by cultivating one-on-one relationships with residents, by assisting in their academic, social, and emotional transitions into and throughout college life; by fostering development of community relationships among students; and by working to create and maintain a peaceful, secure environment according to the Values system set forth by the University. This position is staffed by students.
