Our Story

Julie Stewart does a great job each day in her role as Samford's payroll manager.  She wrote to me a few days ago, singing the praises of her coworkers across the campus:

"Being in HR, my everyday mission at Samford primarily involves ministering to the faculty and staff and those students who decide to work on campus.  With an entering freshman who will live on campus this year, I had the opportunity to experience things from the other side of the fence, so to speak. Of the various universities that my daughter visited, she said Samford was where she felt “at home.”  I have known my fellow employees do a great job as I observe them as coworkers. But to actually experience it from the perspective of a parent was truly eye opening.  I can only describe our experience as “Outstanding!”   To experience Freshman Move In with the added insight of knowing what the people orchestrating it have been through to pull off this well choreographed dance made it completely awe inspiring.  I left my daughter on Friday believing that she was in very capable hands (whether I had been traveling back to another state or returning to campus on Monday) and heard the same sentiment from other parents over and over again.  Everyone involved did an amazing job, particularly Lauren Taylor and her Residence Life staff!  God has truly blessed Samford with incredible people who touch the lives of students and their parents every day."

The world is better because Samford's employees are committed to continuous improvement
