Students To Pitch-In For ODK Service Day
Hundreds of Samford University students will participate in Omicron Delta Kappa’s Day of Service Saturday, April 10.
About 350 volunteers, including some Samford faculty and staff members, will assist a variety of Birmingham area nonprofit organizations, 8 a.m.-12 noon.
Activities include holding a car wash to support Children’s Miracle Network and working with Ronald McDonald House, Urban Ministry, Inc., Shades Mountain Baptist Church’s community restoration efforts, NorthStar Ministries, Church at Brook Hills’ Hispanic clinic and Habitat for Humanity.
The project, sponsored by the Samford chapter of ODK leadership honor society, is part of ODK’s National Day of Service.
Samford ODK member Stephen Bailey, a chemistry major from Brownsburg, Ind., is student coordinator. Samford business professor Dr. Betsy Holloway, is Samford ODK advisor.
