Samford's Legal Assistant Program Earns ABA Re-Approval
Samford University's legal assistant education program has received full re-approval by the American Bar Association (ABA). The seven-year re-approval is based on the ABA's extensive review of institutional program documents, curriculum, library and computer resources, as well as on-campus interviews with administrators, faculty, alumni and students.
The program, offered through Samford's Orlean Bullard Beeson School of Education and Professional Studies, prepares persons to work in various areas of legal service under the supervision of licensed attorneys. Opened in 1975, Samford's legal assistant education program is the oldest in Alabama, and was the first to achieve ABA approval status.
Students who complete the 10-course program earn a legal assistant certificate. Les Ennis, J.D., is program director.
