His three lectures at Samford are titled: "The Poetry of Awe," "The Poetry of Lament" and "The Poetry of Vocation."

The lectures will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 5 and 7, and 9:15 on Wednesday, Oct. 6, in Reid Chapel. Following the Wednesday lecture, a reception will be held in the Auxiliary Room for anyone interested in speaking informally with Dr. Duke.

The series honors the late Dotson M. Nelson, Jr., longtime pastor at Mountain Brook Baptist Church.
