Montgomery's St. James School Wins State Science Olympiad
St. James School of Montgomery won first place in the 2005 Alabama Science Olympiad held at Samford University Saturday (April 2). The team will represent the state in the national Science Olympiad competition at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign May 20-21. St. James was also last year's first place state winner.
The Auburn High School team finished second, and will also travel to the national event.
In the state competition at Samford, 16 teams competed in 23 different events representing biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, computers and technology.
The "blue" team from Huntsville's Randolph High, which had two teams competing, finished third.
