Dr. Edwin Bridges, State Archives Director, To Speak at Samford Commencement Dec. 17
Samford University will graduate about 200 seniors during Fall commencement Saturday, Dec. 17, including the first 17 recipients of the new nurse anesthesia degree.
Dr. Edwin C. Bridges, director of the Alabama department of archives and history, will speak during 10 a.m. ceremonies in Wright Center Concert Hall. Dr. Bridges has served as head of the state archives and history department, the nation's oldest such department, since 1982. He is a graduate of Furman University with a Ph.D. in history from the University of Chicago.
A reception for seniors and those attending commencement will follow commencement in Beeson University Center main dining room.
The Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing will hold its nurse pinning ceremony Friday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. in Hodges Chapel. The nursing school will hold a hooding ceremony for the nurse anesthetist graduates, who receive the master of science in nursing degree, on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 7 a.m. in Hodges Chapel.
The School of Business will hold its master of business administration hooding ceremony Saturday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 a.m. in Brock Forum.
