Samford University students Logan Heim, junior journalism and mass communication major from Enterprise, Ala., and Haley Massey, sophomore pre-business major from Morristown, Tenn., have been selected as interns for their sororities, Alpha Omicron Pi and Alpha Delta Pi, respectively.

As an intern with the Alpha Omicron Pi International Headquarters in Brentwood, Tenn., Heim will work on a variety of variety of publications including their tri-annual magazine To Dragma. She will be working with the communications director and executive director to implement a variety of changes and improvements to Alpha Omicron Pi across the board. Heim also will play an integral role in preparing for and executing the 2011 Alpha Omicron Pi convention in Tucson, Ariz. at the end of June.

“Completing an internship with Alpha Omicron Pi will allow me to give back to and further advance an incredible organization that has greatly enhanced my college experience and provided me with phenomenal education, cherished friendships, and key leadership skills that I will carry throughout my life,” said Heim.

Massey was selected to be one of eight interns at the Alpha Delta Pi executive office in Atlanta.

“I am truly honored to have been selected. I can't wait to absorb all the information I can, and be able to share it with the Kappa chapter,” Massey said. One of Massey’s biggest tasks will be to assist in planning for the annual grand convention where thousands of women will attend a week-long event in Phoenix, Ariz.

As intern, she also will assist in piloting new recruitment workshops and working alongside the leadership consultants to plan the upcoming year.

“Since I am a marketing major, I am looking forward to gaining some hands on experience by working with the marketing division of the sorority,” said Massey.
