Season tickets are available for Samford University Theatre's 2007-08 offerings. The schedule of eight shows offers a variety of drama and musical presentations.

"It was our goal this year, as we put together many new pieces in the performing arts, to pull together some of the finest of contemporary and classical literature," said Samford theatre director Dr. Don Sandley. "And, in so doing, to showcase the extraordinary talents of our Samford University Theatre students."

The season opens with Kander and Ebb's lively musical review, The World Goes Round, in September. The show includes familiar tunes from Cabaret, Chicago and Kiss of the Spider Woman. Performances are in Bolding Studio at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 15.

The stage adaptation of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest runs Oct. 25-28. Since its 1963 Broadway premiere, the play has had two New York revivals, and was made into a 1975 film starring Jack Nicholson. Performances are in Harrison Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 25-27 and 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 28.

Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare runs Nov. 29 and 30, and Dec. 2. The Bard's classic tale brings great storytelling, music and dance together. Performances are in Brock Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 and 30 and 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 2.

The 2008 schedule begins in February with David Mamet's Oleanna. The story involves a university professor who is accused of harassment by a female student, and neither of their lives can be the same. Shows are in Bolding Studio at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, 8, and 9, and at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 10.

Samford Dance Concert, displaying the talents of the school's dance program, will be presented in Harrison Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 and 29 and March 1, and at 2:30 p.m. on March 2.

Michael Frayn's Copenhagen will run in March. The acclaimed work grapples with issues of history and politics, yet remains entertaining. Performances are in Samford's Christenberry Planetarium at 7:30 p.m. on March 27, 28 and 29, and 2:30 p.m. on March 30.

A Piece of My Heart by Shirley Lauro tells the stories of six courageous women sent to Vietnam, and their struggle to make sense of a war that changed them and a nation that shunned them. Performances are in Bolding Studio at 7:30 p.m. on April 10, 11 and 12 and 2:30 p.m. on April 13.

Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella will be presented in May as part of Samford Theatre for Young Audiences. The musical theatre version of the classic story will be in Harrison Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on May 1, 2 and 3, and at 2:30 p.m. on May 4.
