Samford will host about 250 area high school students and 75 teachers Saturday ( Jan. 19) at this year's Make A Change Leadership Institute.

The annual human relations program is sponsored by the National Conference for Community and Justice of Alabama.

The schedule involves workshops on group building, cross-cultural communication, critical thinking and inter-group dynamics. The student sessions are facilitated by teens who have previously trained at other NCCJ-sponsored programs. Adult staff members lead sessions for teachers.

Participants represent 38 schools in Birmingham and Jefferson County school districts, and in neighboring counties.
