Samford To Celebrate National Library Week, April 12-18

In collaboration with the American Library Association, Samford University Libraries will be celebrating National Library Week April 12-18.

Events will include daily prize drawings, coffee in the library, library tours, fine amnesty, and poetry readings.


Tuesday, April 14, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Enjoy snacks and a behind-the-scenes library tour in celebration of National Library Worker Day. Interested patrons should meet at the circulation desk on the first floor of University Library.


Wednesday April 15, 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 2 p.m.

Revive with fresh coffee on the first floor of University Library.


Thursday April 16, 10 a.m.

Poetry reading, including open mic time, on the front steps of University Library in celebration of National Poetry Month. Open mic sign-up begins at 9:30 a.m.

Thursday also is Fine Amnesty Day. Patrons presenting ID and returning overdue books, CDs, DVDs and videos at the circulation desk will not be fined for the late returns. The fine amnesty does not apply to materials placed in the book drop, lost materials that have been billed, processing charges, or study room keys.
