The Samford University Alumni Association will host four regional alumni events during  March in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

"The whole idea [of the regional gatherings] is to bring people around and tell them about the great things that are happening," said David Goodwin, Samford's director of alumni programs.

The events invite alumni, parents and friends to an evening of dinner, fellowship and an update from the university.

Each event will begin at 6 p.m. local time. Advance registration is required.

The Anniston, Ala., event is March 5 at Classic on Noble.

The Orlando, Fla., event is March 18 at the Citrus Club.

The Jacksonville, Fla., event is March 19 at Maggiano's Little Italy.

The Jackson, Miss., event is March 26 at Mint the Restaurant.
