Computer camps for elementary and middle school students will be offered at Samford University July 10-14. Sessions for children who will be in grades three through five next fall will meet 8 a.m. until 12 noon each day. Sessions for youngsters who will be in grades six through eight will meet 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
The camps are sponsored by Samford's Orlean Bullard Beeson School of Education and Professional Studies.
Participants will work on programs that will help enrich their school-year experiences. The camp is designed to help students strengthen their learning processes and put their knowledge and skills to better use in their school studies. Emphasis will be on integrating technology in all subjects.
Instructor is Alice-Marie Morrison, adjunct education professor at Samford, where she teaches courses in curriculum and media and computer-based technology. She also teaches third grade at Bluff Park Elementary School, where she incorporates technology into the teaching and learning process.
