The Samford Speakers Series will present speakers for and against the upcoming Alabama lottery vote Thursday, Sept. 30. The public is invited to the 10 a.m. program in Reid Chapel at Samford University.
Speaking in favor of the lottery will be Paul Hamrick, Gov. Don Siegelman's Chief of Staff, and Rick Dent, representing the Alabama Lottery Foundation.
Speaking against the lottery will be state senator Bill Armistead of Columbiana and state representative Mary Sue McClurkin of Pelham.
Kim Speorl, a junior political science major from Pelham, is chair of the Speakers Series.
