'Justice in Campaigns' Topic of Program at Samford

"Justice in the 2002 Campaigns" is the theme of a program at Samford University Tuesday (July 16) in Brock Forum, Dwight Beeson Hall, beginning at 9 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Interfaith Alliance of Alabama and the Interfaith Alliance Foundation National Office.

Local and national panelists will discuss justice issues from a faith-based perspective and provide insight into how justice is being considered in the 2002 election campaigns.

Panelists include Samford President Thomas E. Corts, Greater Birmingham Ministries representative Scott Douglass, pastor and columnist James L. Evans, Alabama Arise coordinator Kimble Forrister, Pacific School of Religion professor William McKinney and Freedom Foundation executive director Iman Mahdi Bray. Dr. Evans is president of the Interfaith Alliance of Alabama.

The discussion will be presented in two parts with local panelists beginning at 9 a.m., and national panelists starting at 10:45 a.m.
