The Samford University planetarium will host a multimedia video presentation,
Star of Bethlehem on six nights during December. The public is invited free
of charge.
Showings are at 7 p.m. on Dec. 11, 12, 15, 18 and 19; and at 3:30 p.m. and
6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The presentation addresses questions that historians and scientists have
pondered for centuries about explanations for the star.
“The Star of Bethlehem journeys through historical and astronomical
pathways to help you reach your own conclusion,” said planetarium director
George Atchley.
The 100-seat planetarium, which features a 200-degree wraparound screen,
is located in the north wing of the Samford Sciencenter. Groups of 10 or more
are welcome to schedule a special showing. For information, call (205)
