Returning Samford University students arrive on campus Sunday (Aug. 29) for the 2004-05 academic year. Classes begin Monday (Aug. 30).
This year’s expected enrollment of 4,358 includes students from 45 states and 30 countries. About 680 freshmen settled into campus life during final orientation last week.
Samford’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy expects a record number of students. The first professional year class of 123 doctor of pharmacy students, selected from 1,387 qualified applicants, will join 353 returning students for a total pharmacy enrollment of 476.
Samford president Thomas E. Corts will address a campus-wide convocation Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Wright Center Concert Hall. The winner of the Buchanan Award for excellence in classroom teaching will be announced.
All Samford students will enjoy five days of Welcome Back activities, beginning with an on-campus concert Sunday evening, Aug. 29.
