The annual Samford University communications workshop for high school journalists will be held Thursday (SEPT. 16). The event is co-sponsored by Samford's Department of Journalism/Mass Communication and the Alabama Press Association Journalism Foundation.
A careers panel at 8:30 a.m. in Brock Forum of Dwight Beeson Hall will feature Bill Todd, president of public relations, O2 Ideas; Fran Curry, anchor/news reporter, NBC-13; Steve Millburg, senior editor, Coastal Living magazine; and Brad English, assistant director, Alabama Press Association.
The balance of the day will include sessions on newspaper and magazine writing and editing, photojournalism and broadcasting, all led by area professionals. The program will end at 1:50 p.m. Lunch will be available in the Samford food court.
