Samford University has announced plans for a Homecoming Ball to take place Nov. 14 as part of the university's 2013 homecoming celebration. The event is for Samford University students only.
The Homecoming Court will be presented, and the homecoming king and queen will be crowned during the ball, according to Paige Acker, Samford's coordinator for students activities and event.
The formal event is from 8-11 p.m. in Seibert Gym. Birmingham-based Kathy G. and Company, Inc. will "transform the space into a grand ballroom creating an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication," Acker said. "Chandeliers will adorn the room creating an atmosphere of grandeur where celebration will continue throughout the evening."
Birmingham band St. Paul and the Broken Bones will perform. The band includes several Samford alumni.
"Delightful goodies and refreshments, beautifully displayed to perfection, will be served and included in the price of attendance," Acker added.
Tickets will be sold beginning Friday, Oct. 25. Tickets are $10, and Samford students can charge to their student account. Formal attire is required, Acker said.
