Biographical Information

At Samford, David has served as president of the Socratic Club for two years, held a position on the Student Judiciary Committee for two years, and was part of the inaugural class of John Howard Scholars. A recipient of the philosophy department’s Mabry Lunceford Scholarship, David is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Theta Alpha Kappa, and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies. After he presented his paper entitled “A Philosophical Journey through Miracles, the Metaphysics, and the Summa Contra Gentiles” at the 2013 Association of Core Texts and Courses Conference, the paper was one of three from the conference selected for publication in the 2013 Agora: Journal for Undergraduate Scholarly Papers. David volunteers with Amedisys Hospice Care in Birmingham and has academic interests in philosophy of religion, philosophy of mind, and medicine.
