University Fellows must take courses in non-Western cultures. The director maintains a list of university-wide courses that meet this requirement, and students should seek approval before registering. These courses must fall outside of the student's major discipline, although exceptions may be made for students pursuing a double major or dual degree. While many courses are offered  outside of the program to fulfill this requirement, the program also offers interdisciplinary non-Western courses for Fellows.
