Mandy Jayne Stanley, '14, was named the 2014 National Student Teacher of the Year by
the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education and the
Association of Teacher Education. This is the first time the award has
been granted to an Alabama student and includes a $1,200 cash prize and

Amy Clayton Baggett, '09, received the Blue Ribbon Teacher Award that honors Metro Nashville Public Schools top teachers. The recipients were selected by a group of community leaders based on nominations from parents, faculty and administrators. She works at Glencliff Elementary School as an English-Lanuage Arts teacher.
Samford's School of Education recently hosted a luncheon for its Centennial Planning Committee. Here, Jane Bond and Lo Rowan, both education alumni, enjoy the fellowship and reminiscing about their days as college roommates. Dr. Jeanna Westmoreland hosted the group at her and President Westmoreland's home. The committee is helping plan events for next year in celebration of the school's 100th year of teacher educator programs.
