The Office of Marketing and Communication, through its staff of award-winning media professionals, is assigned to represent the university to external media. The office can assist in developing news and feature releases on behalf of departments and program areas that highlight events, academic achievements and other important news.
The office also maintains a list of campus experts who have expressed willingness to respond to specific media inquiries.
Employees who are contacted directly by news media should use personal and professional discretion in responding to media inquiries and should notify the Office of Marketing and Communication of media inquiries. The sports information office fulfills this responsibility for athletics.
