The Room: a true meeting place

the roomHave you ever experienced something that has brought you so much joy and excitement that you constantly look forward to when you can experience it again? I have found many organizations and groups on campus that I love but one that I have become deeply involved in and that has become very close to my heart is a ministry on campus called "The Room". "The Room" is a small group that meets on Thursday nights in the Planetarium. What I love about this ministry is that it is all student led and run. I started going from the very start and am blessed to have become part of the process of helping make it a reality each week.

I have met so many wonderful people that share the same heart for the ministry, and it is amazing to feel and see the connection we have created through it. The thing that makes "The Room" so special is that it is truly a place that is completely focused on providing students with a way to encounter the Lord and to build strong relationships with other students on campus. It is incredible to see how God has been working through this ministry as well. The whole concept started with an idea from a couple of freshman and sophomore guys on campus who wanted to provide students with a way to come together and have the opportunity to worship and learn more about how to have an active faith walk. It has grown to involve several other people who share the same passion for the Lord and who want to be a light on campus and help others grow closer to the Lord.

As each week passes, the number of people coming to "The Room" has increased by astounding amounts that can only be described as a work of the Lord. "The Room" has become a part of my routine, and I am constantly looking forward to the next week. My passion and love for the Lord has grown extensively, and I feel a joy that is truly indescribable. It has been and I know will continue to be such a gift and blessing to me and I cannot wait to see what the Lord will do next and how He will use us as students to serve this campus!

"In my father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I wouldhave told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you."- John14:2
