Our focus is our students
Scholarship through mentorship
Samford professors' primary focus is on teaching and mentoring their students. They work closely with students and get to know them well, enabling them to assist students individually toward their personal and professional goals.
Study in small classes
Our student-to-faculty ratio is a low 12:1. More than 85 percent of our full-time faculty have earned the highest degrees in their fields of study. No classes at Samford are taught by graduate students. Samford professors genuinely care -- they are role models who lead by example.
Academic resources to help you succeed
Samford seeks to provide resources to help students achieve success, including the Academic Success Center, the Communication Resource Center, mentors and tutors, caring faculty and staff, computer labs with printers, campus-wide wireless access and libraries with more than one million volumes. Samford is committed to providing up-to-date classroom technologies.
Expand your horizons.
Learn outside of the classroom
Samford seeks to engage the global community in learning, faith and service. You can choose from a major such as international trade or world languages, learn through the extensive study abroad program or participate in one of the local or international missions and ministry projects. This is your chance to get involved. Give back. Be a global citizen.
Ignite your curiosity
The University Fellows program is a highly competitive honors program that provides a series of special opportunities for the most ambitious and intellectually curious students on campus.
Become a scholar
Any undergraduate program at Samford is a rigorous learning experience, but some students want to test their learning at the highest level by joining with faculty to conduct original research. Students must draw upon all of their educational experiences, from introductory courses in writing and mathematics to specialized knowledge in their major field. With the technology and other resources of a great university, your imagination is your only limitation.
